Diocese of Green Bay distributes grants for immigrant and refugee programs

ORB-English-Logo-smFour Northeastern Wisconsin organizations were selected by the Diocese of Green Bay to receive funding to support their outreach programs to immigrant and refugee communities. Funding came from Catholic Relief Services’ annual Operation Rice Bowl collection.

Webster building being recycled as crosses, materials for buildings and old barn

Chancery-Recycle1GREEN BAY, Wis. (Sept. 28, 2010) – Crosses and materials for buildings and the restoration of a barn are among the ways the former Chancery building at 1910 S. Webster Avenue in Allouez is being recycled.

Nearly all the former Chancery will be recycled, said Dean Hurt of Hurt Recycling.

The firm, which specializes in materials' recovery, removed all historical or reusable materials before the 99-year-old building was demolished on Sept. 1.

Catholic Charities honored

Agency recognized for work in reducing poverty through Financial Health Program

ccnewlogo20090827Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Green Bay received a Centennial award from Catholic Charities USA (CCUSA) for its work in reducing poverty through the Financial Health Program.

The award, in the form of a grant, recognized programs that help move people out of poverty. CCUSA’s goal is to reduce poverty 50 percent by 2020.
