team-days-graphic"The Sacrament of Living" will be the theme for the 2015 TEAM Day of Study and Reflection for parish staff and volunteers.

This year's TEAM Day will focus on the Prayer and Spirituality area from Bishop Ricken's pastoral reflection, "Teach My People to Pray."

When: Thursday, March 5, 2015 | 9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

timone-davistimone davis, D.Min., is a cradle Catholic who was a "pewster" until she discovered that the uselessness of the Church was because she wasn't giving anything of herself. After committing to do something, her life changed. Her first ministry was with the RCIA, where she not only welcomed others into the Church, but also revitalized her own spirituality.

timone and her husband Orlando launched PEACE centered WHOLENESS after she worked in Young Adult Ministry for the Archdiocese of Chicago.

She is the formation director for the Augustus Tolton Pastoral Ministry Program at Catholic Theological Union and Associate Director for the Continuing Education and Enrichment Programs for the Institute for Black Catholic Studies at Xavier University of Louisiana.

"The Sacrament of Living" will cover these topics:

  • Holy, Holy, Holy ... Me
  • Creating and Using the Desert for Purpose
  • The LORD's Prayer Revisited

Diocese Reviews Grant Details

Initial check shows awards support Church teachings

On Nov. 12, 2009, the Diocese of Green Bay became aware of concerns involving the Gamaliel Foundation and its state umbrella group called WISDOM. It appears that the groups had been associated with Health Care for American Now (HCAN), which on Nov. 7, 2009, began to advocate for the inclusion of abortion coverage. It is our understanding that, earlier this week, both groups notified HCAN to withdraw their membership. This is of interest to the Diocese of Green Bay because two local groups, JOSHUA and ESTHER, have associations with Gamaliel and WISDOM.

Pastoral Letter: A New Moment for Catechesis

Bishop Ricken issues his first Pastoral Letter to the Diocese of Green Bay

catholic-catechism-for-adults-20091109GREEN BAY — Bishop David Ricken has written his first pastoral letter to Catholics in the Green Bay Diocese. The pastoral letter, released Nov. 1, focuses on the United States Catholic Catechism for Adults, which was published by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops in 2006.

Titled "A New Moment for Catechesis in the Diocese of Green Bay," the 3,500-word pastoral letter discusses the adult catechism's use in faith formation and religious instruction in the diocese.

Economic downturn

Bishop asks parishes to respond to those in need

bishopBishop David L. Ricken is asking Catholics to help families and individuals who are feeling fearful, uncertain, and anxious because of the economic downturn.

"It is in the face of times like these that the Church, and especially parishes, are called to respond with pastoral care and loving concern in whatever ways that it can," Bishop Ricken said.

To help make this possible, the Diocese of Green Bay has put together a packet of helpful ideas, programs, and resource materials.
