Diocesan Charismatic Renewal Group

Diocesan Charismatic RenewalThe DCRC (Diocesan Charismatic Renewal Center) was established in 1987 to meet the needs of the thirty prayer groups throughout the Diocese of Green Bay. It serves as a meeting place for prayer group leaders, a resource center for media relating to the Charismatic Renewal and the Catholic Church, and an information center for local, regional, and national charismatic activities, speakers, and topics. The Diocesan Charismatic Renewal Group serves charismatic prayer groups, those who would like a deeper relationship with the Lord and those who would like more information about charismatic renewal.

Koinonia

KoinoniaKoinonia is a Catholic retreat, (a weekend experience) and an invitation to encounter Jesus while continuing life's journey. Koinonia strives to meet everyone where they are at and assist them on their spiritual journey. Koinonia brings the Paschal Mystery to life so that the dying and rising of Christ are experienced in a real and powerful way. The weekend consists of talks, discussions, reflections, sharing, prayer, and liturgical celebrations. A team of lay people, clergy, and religious lead the experience, which is held in a loving and accepting atmosphere. Koinonia brings each person into one community, one body gathered in the name of Jesus, who is the center of the weekend.

Upcoming Koinonia events include:

February 17-19 2016 | Holy Cross Parish | Bay Settlement
March 31-April 2, 2017 | Holy Family Parish | Phlox

Cursillo

Cursillo-Green-BayCursillo seeks to uplift Catholics in their faith through deepening three actions of the Holy Spirit: piety, study and action. The Cursillo movement is world wide with centers in most countries. In 1957 the first Cursillo in the United States was held in Waco, Texas, with a priest and two Spanish Air Force trainees as the key figures. In 1965, the first Cursillo took place in the Diocese of Green Bay and has been going ever since. Four Cursillos are held per year. The basic format of the Cursillo weekend has remained constant but as in all things, changes and updates have been made in the retreat format. In the Diocese of Green Bay there have been 200+ weekends held with over 7,000+ Cursillistas meeting the challenge of Pope Pius XII to penetrate our environments and bring the world back to Christ.

Christian Experience Weekend

Christian-Experience-WeekendChristian Experience Weekends began as an adaptation of Cursillo retreats. Candidates and team experience prayer in the Sacraments, Morning and Evening prayer. Reconciliation tends to be a major turning point on the weekend. CEW challenges the average Catholic, accustomed to simply coming to Mass on Sunday, to participate in a two-day weekend event. While a lot of persuasion is used for sign up, once the weekend starts participants become captivated by the whirlwind speed of events, as well as the intensity of spiritual feelings found. While the weekend may seem to go by fast, many have commented that they spent months sorting out what the weekend of religious intensity started. Just like the room where the apostles experienced Pentecost, many average parishioners, who have never had such days, consistently encounter the Holy Spirit.
