Parish Leadership Toolkit

Parish Leadership Toolkit

"Our hope is not in a program or philosophy but in the person of Jesus Christ, who comforts those who are burdened." (Disciples Called To Witness)

Recognizing that the New Evangelization is a call for each person to center their lives more fully on Christ, it is also true that for many people, a particular study program or retreat experience at the appropriate time, can be a springboard to a deeper understanding of faith and the Catholic Church. In choosing a particular program parishes should ask these questions:

  • Are we expecting this program to do the work of evangelization at our parish or is this program part of an overall pastoral plan and vision to form intentional disciples at my parish?
  • Have we as a parish staff assessed the readiness of our parishioners for such a program?
  • Will this program have a lasting impact upon the faith of our parishioners? How will this be measured?
  • As a parish staff, are we ready to move beyond this program and take people deeper into their faith?
  • What is our follow up strategy after this program has concluded?

Each parish community in the Diocese of Green Bay is unique in its culture and charisms. So what works for one parish may not work for another one. The resources and outlines on this page can all be downloaded for use in your parish.
