GREEN BAY, Wis. (Aug. 12, 2011) -- Twenty-six pilgrims from the Diocese of Green Bay will join Pope Benedict XVI at World Youth Day August 18-21, 2011, in Madrid, Spain. People who can't go to Spain are being invited to take part in World Youth Day by attending as virtual pilgrims.

Packers partner with Catholic Charities for 51st annual Bishop's Charities Game

GREEN BAY, Wis. (Aug. 31, 2011) – On Thursday, September 1, 2011, the Packers will host the Kansas City Chiefs for the 51st annual Bishop’s Charities Game at Lambeau Field. Each year, the Packers organization donates approximately $55,000 of its Bishop’s Charities Game ticket sales to Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Green Bay. Kickoff is 7 p.m.

GREEN BAY, Wis. (Aug. 11, 2011) -- Runners and walkers are invited to participate in the 2011 Charity Challenge 5K Fun Run at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, outside St. Francis Xavier Cathedral, Green Bay. The run will conclude in the church's center where a pancake breakfast will be served. The annual fun run benefits Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Green Bay.

Catholics asked to help 23 future priests this month through annual collection

seminarian-collection-smGREEN BAY, Wis. (Aug. 2, 2011) -- As the number of seminarians continues to grow in the Catholic Diocese of Green Bay, the annual Seminarian Collection grows in importance.

This year, two men have been ordained as priests, and two more are projected for ordination in the coming year. Including the two men projected for ordination this year, there are currently 23 seminarians in the Diocese of Green Bay.
