Bishop David Ricken to Celebrate Mass

Bishop David L. Ricken will celebrate the Mass with Auxiliary Bishop Emeritus Robert F. Morneau and Bishop Emeritus Robert J. Banks. All priests serving in the diocese have been invited to concelebrate. Invited guests include the presidents of Silver Lake and St. Norbert colleges, representatives from the religious orders serving in the diocese, deacons serving in the diocese and members of the Catholic School Advisory Council and Diocesan Board of Education.

The Diocesan Association of School Administrators (DASA) is hosting the Mass, with the assistance of the Diocesan Department of Education. Just as in 2010, organizers anticipate that it will compare as one of the largest gatherings of Catholic school students as well as one of the largest events at the Resch Center. In 2010, the Catholic schools Mass was the largest event the Resch Center had hosted.

Combined Choir and Band to Perform

A combined choir and band comprised of students from the diocesan high schools will sing and play before Mass. Building Permit, a Catholic praise and worship band whose seven members come from parishes in Neenah, Appleton and Kimberly/Darboy, will donate their time to lead the students in the liturgical music as well as perform a concert while everyone eats their bag lunches.

At the end of Mass, Bishop Ricken will give a special blessing to all the teachers and students.

Donations Accepted

To help meet the more than $60,000 in expenses for the event, including facility rental, personnel to operate lighting and sound equipment, and transportation to the Resch Center, schools were asked to donate $6.00 per student. DASA and other donations will help cover additional costs. Donations are being accepted. No diocesan funds from the Department of Education or Bishop's Appeal will be used for this event.

Due to limited seating, only students, teachers and invited guests will be able to attend. For more information about the all Catholic schools Mass or to make a donation to help defray costs, contact Jane Schueller (920-272-8284) or Pamela Otto (920-494-1931).

The Diocese of Green Bay will provide a live webcast of this Mass at www.gbdioc.org/2015Mass, beginning at 9:50 a.m.
