Speakers for this event include Scott Stillwell, MD, and the Very Reverend John W. Girotti, JCL.

Applying Catholic Values to Medicine

Dr. Scott Stillwell is a physician at the recently opened St. Gianna Clinic in Green Bay, an affiliate of St. Mary's Hospital Medical Center. "As a family physician for the last 25+ years, I have seen God being slowly pushed out of the social arena. As a result, I have seen a breakdown of the traditional family unit, which is the undeniable cornerstone of a strong society. I am very excited to be supported by St. Mary's Hospital, to be involved in St. Gianna Clinic, where we unapologetically respect God is the Creator of life, and subsequently practice medicine, according to Catholic values."

Fr. Girotti, Vicar for Canonical Services and Associate Moderator of the Curia for the Diocese of Green Bay, says, "The law of the Church exists for one purpose -- the salvation of souls. So often people complain about man-made laws in the Church not realizing that these are actually for their own happiness and salvation. So too when we live our Catholic Faith and witness to the truth of Jesus Christ by advocating for medical treatments that are both moral and ethical, we sometimes will be misunderstood. However, we must always remember that the art of medicine, like the law of the Church, is for the salvation of souls by enabling the body to fulfill its purpose -- to help the individual on the way to heaven."

Evening Begins with Mass

The evening will begin with Mass at 5:15 p.m. followed by a reception, dinner at 6:30 p.m., and presentation at 7 p.m. All are welcome to attend this event.
