This year, $13,000 was awarded to agencies at the local level to meet the basic material needs of immigrant and refugee people in northeastern Wisconsin.

"Through our parishioner's prayers, generosity and sacrifice, we are able to provide assistance to the needy with food, clothing and other needs within our diocese and throughout the world," said Eric Weydt, Catholic Social Justice Coordinator for the Diocese of Green Bay and diocesan program coordinator of CRS Rice Bowl.

Catholic Relief Services is the official international humanitarian agency of the Catholic community in the United States. CRS is motivated by the example of Jesus Christ to assist the poor and suffering in nearly 100 countries on the basis of need, without regard to race, religion or nationality.
