What is a Crozier?
A Crozier is a walking staff, a symbol of pastoral authority
conferred on bishops and abbots at their installations.
The top of the staff is curved like a shepherd’s crook to remind the Bishop of his pastoral care of the people entrusted to him.
The crozier provides support to the Bishop as he leads his flock on their journey of faith.
Members of the Crozier Society share in the important task of tending to the needy and responding to the new challenges we face as the Church of Northeastern Wisconsin.
