Lifelong Catholic Learning Learn It! Love It! Live It!
|
|
 |
Education in our Catholic faith and tradition is a critical component of the Diocese of Green Bay's greater mission. Lifelong education, employing the three distinct and fundamental forms, is an integral part of our past success and future vision as a community of believers.
Through our religious education programs we continue to support all members of our Catholic community in becoming well-versed in the tenets of our faith and committed to living as Jesus asked us to live.

Inspiring Lifelong Catholic Disciples Rooted in Word, Sacraments, Community and Service
Catechetical Vision Statement
Guided by the documents of Vatican II and the National and General Directories for Catechesis, we respond to our baptismal call to proclaim the Kingdom of God by:
- Creating a positive and welcoming environment where lifelong learning and faith sharing can take place.
- Leading people to Christ through the Word of God, the Eucharist and the rich Tradition of the Catholic Church.
- Forming disciples who witness the Gospel through our lived example of prayer, service and sharing.
- Living the challenge of Catholic Social Teachings in the pursuit of unity, justice and peace.
- Building partnerships as co-workers in the vineyard that respect the mission and ministry of all.
- Enriching our ministry through professional development to effectively serve the people of God.

Strategic Plan
The Religious Education strategic planning process involved religious education administrators throughout the diocese and department of education staff. This process involved 19 steps which are contained in the full Strategic Plan.
Those involved in developing this plan developed a mission statement and a set of core values for religious education. They identified the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of religious education in the Diocese. Utilizing this information, priorities and goals for 2007 – 2010 were developed. Key areas of the Strategic Plan include Foundations, Announcing the Good News, Investment, Tools for the Mission and Human Treasure. The complete set of action plans are contained in the full Strategic Plan.
This document is a three-year rolling plan. Each year the Strategic Plan will be updated to include an additional year. It is evaluated once a year and details on the progress is available to the public. Please contact the Department of Education for additional information.
