Each of us is born in the image and likeness of God. But, what is it in us that is the image and likeness of God?

Fr. Ron Rolheiser provides an excellent answer to this question in his book, "The Holy Longing." Like Moses who approached God at the burning bush, we too have fire within us. Within us, there is a yearning, a longing, a desire for more. Even when we feel perfectly content and at peace, it is only a short while before we begin to long for the peace to stay with us and not diminish.

That yearning, that longing, that desire is God within us. What we do with that desire is what defines our spirituality.
