God calls all baptized Christians to transform the world. Mainly we do this by how we live each day. For some Catholics this means working for the Church full-time as commissioned ministers serving as pastoral associates, liturgists, teachers and educators, youth ministers or parish business managers. For others, it’s as a deacon. Many Catholics fulfill special roles of service, in a variety of ways, in their parish. Countless numbers of Catholics also want to continue in their understanding of the faith.



Five Basic Areas of Formation

The Department for Lay Ministry Formation assists in meeting all these needs by sponsoring training in five basic areas of formation:
