Vocations Lay Ministry

Lay Ministry Print E-mail

God calls all baptized Christians to transform the world. Mainly we do this by how we live each day. For some Catholics this means working for the Church full-time as certified ministers -- pastoral associates, liturgists, teachers and educators, youth ministers or parish business managers. For others, it’s as a deacon. Many Catholics fulfill special roles of service, in many ways, in their parish. Numerous Catholics also want to continue in their understanding of the faith.

Four Basic Areas of Formation

The Department for Lay Ministry Formation assists in meeting all these needs by sponsoring training in four basic areas of formation:

Emmaus Program     Lay Ministry Leadership Formation Emmaus-logo   Continuing Leadership Formation continuing_leadership_formation

Discípulos de Cristo (Hispanic Lay Ministry Formation) discipulos_de_cristo   Diaconate Academic Formation diaconate_academic_formation
