Renewal Ministries engages in mission work in more than 27 countries, including "The Choices We Face" weekly Catholic television and radio program.

Martin also is the director of graduate theology programs in evangelization and is an assistant professor of theology at Sacred Heart Major Seminary in the Archdiocese of Detroit. He has written many books, most recently "The Fulfillment of All Desire: A Guidebook for the Journey to God Based on the Wisdom of the Saints."

Profound gift of spiritual wisdom

pentecost-190Bishop Ricken said he decided to sponsor the day of renewal "after much prayer and consideration" and to invite Martin, "whom I greatly respect and is well known for his ministry in evangelization and profound gift of spiritual wisdom."

Martin's message "centers on being converted in Jesus Christ in and through the power of the Holy Spirit," Bishop Ricken said. "He follows up with teachings (based on the Church’s wisdom, the saints and Sacred Scriptures) which give insights and inspiration in growing deeper in holiness through prayer in and through the power of the Holy Spirit. This is the foundation from which one is then ready to go forth and spread the good news with the passion and love of Jesus Christ to all."

Martin will give three talks:
  • The Call to Holiness
  • Evangelization
  • the Holy Spirit in the Heart of Mary

"As Shepherd of the Green Bay Diocese, I am strongly encouraging participation in this day event of prayer and inspired teaching. This can truly be a day where the Holy Spirit can then light its fire within your hearts as a renewed personal Pentecost experience," Bishop Ricken said.
