Welcome campers, parents and Camp Tekawitha Alumni!
Much has changed since the first group of campers was welcomed in 1926. We are co-ed. Our name has changed from the Catholic Girls Camp to Camp Tekawitha. Camp’s rustic facilities have been updated so the camp can be used year round. But, the traditions that have made camp special for over 80 years are still at the core of who we are.
As a ministry of the Catholic Diocese of Green Bay, Camp Tekawitha focuses on helping youth grow closer to God. Every day provides a unique opportunity to experience God’s presence in the natural beauty of camp’s property and in the relationships formed with other campers and staff.
Youth prepare for Camp Tekawitha summer camps
By Jeff Kurowski | The Compass
It's a good thing that Austin Vander Loop is returning to Camp Tekawitha this summer because after reflecting on his 2009 camp experience, the 11-year-old has a couple questions.
"No badgers get in there, there are no wild animals. I don't know how they keep them out," he said. His other mystery concerns the tree near the water where campers stick their chewed gum.
"You are not allowed to bring gum there and they don't sell gum there, so where does it come from?" he said. "I don't get it." (Read the entire story in The Compass)

Hogwarts - The Summer Camp
This summer, Hogwarts is hosting a camp along the shores of Loon Lake. Intertwined in the traditional camp activities will be a Quidditch tournament, potion making, and solving the Camp Tekawitha mystery.
The bobsled run is iced. The zamboni is keeping the hockey arena smooth, and the Gold Medals have been polished. All we need is you! Plan now to attend the first ever Camp Tekawitha Winter Olympics.
Camp Tekawitha has wagon trains leaving to traverse the 2,000 mile Oregon Trail. Working together your team will survive the dangers of the journey, ford raging rivers, hunt for food, and celebrate at the end of the trail.
Calling all musicians and wannabees, Camp Tekawitha is holding auditions July 11 to form several “rock” bands. Each band will create instruments from unusual materials, try their hand or foot in percussion, and work together to create the best rock composition ever!
Named after Loon Lake's wild and remote Osprey Island, get ready to test your skills as you and your team compete for the honor of being called "Survivor." Teamwork, creativity, and fun will be on display throughout each challenge.
Step into our living game of CLUE and try to determine who dunnit. Was it Kook in the Archery Field with an Orange Cone? Maybe it was Willow on the Waterfront with a Life Preserver! The week will be filled with mysteries you will help uncover.

Summer Fun
Join the fun at Camp Tekawitha this summer! Let your children discover the fun and excitement of a Northwoods camp on the shores of beautiful Loon Lake. During the summer camping season, Christian ideals are integrated into the children's daily activities which include:
morning prayer
swimming, canoeing, kayaking and paddle boating on Loon Lake
All campers are tested for swimming ability; sailing and canoeing instructions are part of the program. Kayaking and paddle boating add to the excitement.
There's plenty to do indoors, too! Our staff conducts a variety of arts and crafts and special programs. Campers add the enthusiasm and that's how the fun starts!
Celebrating Our Catholicism
Holy Communion is offered to the children each Wednesday, either at Mass or at Liturgy of the Word with Communion, in our environmentally friendly chapel.
The chapel was built using recycled materials and also features cisterns to collect rain water, which is used to water the grounds.
In addition to our new chapel, camp facilities include a main lodge, a recreation hall with a stage and large stone fireplace, craft area, kitchen, spacious dining room, eight sleeping cabins, modern shower building, trading post, health care and office.
Exploring the World Around Them in Safe and Fun Ways
Two qualified counselors are assigned to each cabin and ensure that your children have the chance to explore the world around them.
Children are arranged in cabins according to gender and age.
All children are welcome here regardless of creed, nationality, class or handicaps.
