Community Service
Work directly with persons in need or support the work of those who do. Examples: food pantries, homeless shelters, visiting the elderly, home repair, transportation services, helping refugees and immigrants, childcare, and other hands-on programs.

  • Catholic Volunteer Network (CVN) (Non-profit membership organization of 200 domestic and international volunteer and lay mission programs.)
  • St. Vincent de Paul Society (Catholic lay organization of women and men who join together to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to the needy and suffering; councils in Appleton, Green Bay, Kaukauna, Manitowoc, Marinette, Neenah/Menasha and Oshkosh)
  • Habitat for Humanity (Nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry seeks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness by building houses and selling them to the poor) Find a Habitat for Humanity affiliate in your area
  • Community Blood Center (Independent, nonprofit organization headquartered in Appleton with donor centers in Appleton, Little Chute, Oshkosh)

  • Scenic Shores Chapter (Serving Calumet, Manitowoc, and Sheboygan Counties)

  • Outagamie County Chapter


  • COTS, Inc. (Provides homeless men and women an affordable place to live, food, and training so they may achieve greater self-sufficiency and stable, long-term, independent housing)
  • Fox Valley Warming Shelter (Emergency overnight shelter for the homeless)
  • LEAVEN (Limited Emergency Assistance Valley Ecumenical Network was founded by Fr. Robert Udulutsch to provide emergency financial assistance for housing, utilities, transportation, and other basic human needs in Calumet, Northeastern Winnebago, and Outagamie Counties)
  • St. Joseph Food Program (Fox Cities food bank at St. Joseph Parish)
