With the launch of our new vision and mission, we are focused on helping our leaders to discover Jesus and follow Jesus as a missionary disciple. There are 156 parishes in the Diocese of Green Bay each with particular traditions, approaches to ministry, parish culture, and customs. When it comes to fostering a culture of discipleship in a parish or school, it clearly is not a "one-size-fits-all" approach. Each parish with its unique charisms manifests the Holy Spirit in different ways and with particular emphases. Pope Francis reminds us "that parish is the presence of the Church in a given territory, an environment for hearing God's word, for growth in the Christian life, for dialogue, proclamation, charitable outreach, worship and celebration" (Evangelii Gaudium #28).
Parishes in the Diocese of Green Bay are called to be holy, fully engaged and fully alive in reaching all souls for Christ. It is no time to be complacent and comfortable in our attitude or approach.
This is a time to be a missionary church centered on Christ that inspires credible witnesses capable of reaching others for Christ.
