150th Jubilee Mass for Youth & Youth Ministers to be Celebrated Jan. 14
GREEN BAY, Wis. (Jan. 4, 2018) -- The Diocese of Green Bay is excited to mark its 150th Jubilee Year in 2018, celebrating the past and looking to the future. The newly restored St. Francis Xavier Cathedral in Green Bay will host 12 liturgical celebrations throughout the jubilee year. These celebrations will focus on various groups of the faithful; some of whom have not typically been acknowledged during a special liturgy.
Bishop David L. Ricken will celebrate a Jubilee Mass for Youth & Youth Ministers on Sunday, January 14 at 11 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral. Due to limited seating, complimentary tickets are required and available at www.gbdioc.org/jubilee2018. The liturgy will be followed by a special reception and gift for all participants.
Youth are Future and Present of Church
"The youth are the future of the Church of Green Bay, and also a vibrant part of the present. There is no better way to begin our 150th Jubilee Year than to highlight the energy of our youth and youth ministry programs," said Bishop Ricken, bishop of the Diocese of Green Bay. "Youth across our diocese are being formed as disciples through prayer, service, and community opportunities in our parishes. The Jubilee Mass for Youth and Youth Ministers on January 14th is a way to celebrate their role in our diocese and to give thanks for their ministers and leaders who are dedicated to this vital ministry."
