The relationship between the Liturgy and sacred music is like that of a singer and a song—each depends on the other to be fully alive. Sacred music is not simply an addition to worship; it is an essential expression of it. Within the Diocese of Green Bay, we are committed to deepening our understanding and practice of the Church’s teaching on sacred music, recognizing its vital role as a servant to the Liturgy.
The resources and opportunities offered here are designed to support parishes, musicians, and clergy in elevating sacred music to its proper place—one that glorifies God and fosters the sanctification of the faithful.
The Diocesan Chorale is an auditioned ensemble of singers from parishes throughout the Diocese of Green Bay. This dedicated group supports major diocesan liturgies, including the Rite of Election, Chrism Mass, Ordinations, Confirmations, Crozier Mass, and Masses for Vocations. Membership is open to singers from high school age through adulthood who are eager to serve the Church through sacred music.
To schedule an audition or learn more about the chorale, please call Office of Divine Worship at 920-272-8341.
The Diocesan Youth Choir (DYC) is a treble choir open to girls ages 8 through high school and boys ages 8 through changed voices from across the Diocese of Green Bay.
The mission of the DYC is to foster a lifelong love of sacred music in young people, equipping them to become active and confident participants in the musical life of their parishes and the wider Catholic Church.
To learn more about the DYC or to register your child, please call Office of Divine Worship at 920-272-8341.
