Chrism Mass 2020 Details
Due to the restrictions relating to the COVID19 pandemic, the Chrism Mass for 2020 was held as a private Mass on May 12th. The Holy Oil orders were processed, packaged and given to the Regional Vicars for distribution to individual parishes and organizations. If you have questions about your Holy Oil order, please contact your Regional Vicar or the Office of Divine Worship at our contacts on the bottom of this page. Refunds are currently being processed for those parishes andorganizations that ordered dinner tickets. Those who paid via credit card will receive a credit back to that account. Checks will be issued to those who paid by check or cash.
Please DO NOT get rid of your oils from last year until you have your newly blessed oils for 2020. This is per the instructions outlined in Bishop's Liturgical Directives Concerning COVID-19 and the Celebration of the Sacraments of the Church. If, in an emergency you should run out of the Oil of the Sick, olive oil can be blessed by a priest. Instructions can be found at Blessing the Oil of the Sick in Emergent Circumstances or by contacting the Office of Divine Worship.
Because of the large gathering for this event, the Chrism Mass dinner on April 7th has been cancelled. All parishes and organizations will be refunded the dinner ticket portion of funds. As there are many entities in need of refunds, we ask for your patience as we work through this process.
